BELLEFONTAINE -- Seven long days took its toll.
Playing seven games in seven days proved too tiring for the Fairland Little League 9- and 10-year-old girls softball all-star team. Seemingly out of gas, Fairland lost 8-0 to Talmadge Friday in the championship game of the state tournament.
Fairland was limited to just one hit, a single by Tiffany Bowen, in finishing as state runners-up.
Despite the loss, Fairland finished 11-2 in all-star competition this season. It also marked the best finish by any team from the Fairland Little League. Jim Walker/The Ironton Tribune
