CHESAPEAKE-- The Chesapeake Board of Education and representatives from the teacher's union reached a tentative agreement yesterday.
"We were pleased with the offer from the board," said Larry Morgan, union president, adding members will vote on whether or not to accept the contract Aug. 14.
Along with Morgan, Pam Carden (high school), Chad Belville (high school), Debbie Dolen (elementary school), Audra Litteral (elementary school) and Jeanne Harmon (middle school) represented the union.
"We got our heads together and things went well," said Superintendent Samuel Hall, who along with board treasurer Carol Kilgore and Robert Cross of Cross Management, represented the board.
The board must also vote as to whether or not to accept the contract.
Hall and Morgan both declined to comment on the contract's details at this time. The Ironton Tribune
