Clyde Steed

Nov. 11, 1917-May 28, 2002Clyde E. Steed, 84, of Ironton died Tuesday at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was the son of the late William M. and Isabelle Palmer Steed.

He was the husband of Louise Jenkins Brammer Steed, who survives.

He was a retired foreman with Allied Chemical Coke Plant and was a member and a deacon of Zoar Baptist Church of Coal Grove, where he participated in the men's Bible class. He was a former member of Deering Grange.

He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Conaway Steed; one son, Ronald G. Steed; and one sister, Helen Steed.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy L. and Connie Steed of South Point and Phillip W. and Vickie Steed of Catlettsburg, Ky.; two step daughters and step sons-in-law, Joyce and Dave Hilgenberg of South Point and Jamie and Tim Willis of South Point; one step son and step daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandy Brammer of Coal Grove; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Surita, Debbie Steed and Melissa Reed; six grandsons, Shawn Steed, Ryan Steed, Chris Steed, Daryn Steed, Eric Steed, Shane Steed; four step granddaughters, Leah Blankenship, Heidi Rowe, Morgan Willis, Shae Willis; one step grandson, Aaron Brammer; and one brother, William M. Steed Jr. of Hudson, Fla.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zoar Baptist Church, with Dr. Bob Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in Ironton; and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
