It’s Super Bowl party time!
Who’s it gonna be, the Rams or the Patriots? Super Bowl Sunday is coming up this week in New Orleans. Could it be bigger than Mardi Gras?
Everyone is waiting and planning for that big bash. Whether having a group of friends over or going to a favorite public facility to meet the gang, there can be a lot of work involved in having a party – or it can be made simple by choosing snacks and appetizers that are not so difficult to prepare.
Try cooking a large pot of chili – a favorite for everyone – mix up a cheese ball and grab some crackers, or pick up some of your favorite fruits and make a dip. You’re sure to score with your guests.
So now’s the time to get out your pots and pans and get to cooking. Score a touchdown with your friends and have a ball.
Following are a few recipes sure to be favorites for everyone:

Hot Wings
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix together.
Take chicken wings and roll them in the flour mixture. Fry the wings till crisp.
Mix 1/4 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Frank’s Hot sauce
dash of pepper
Heat on stove till hot. Coat each wing till well covered and serve. (On the Side ) Bleu Cheese dressing or Ranch dressing.

Beef Cheese Ball
Ingredients:
8 oz Cream cheese
horseradish, tsp.
prepared mustard
2 jars chipped beef
2 tbs. butter
Instructions:
Shred chipped beef, saute in 2 Tbs. butter. Combine half of this with tsp. prepared mustard. Roll into ball, then roll in remaining chipped beef. Serve with crackers.
Chocolate Peppermint Dessert
Ingredients:
1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
3 tbs. butter; melted
1 qt. peppermint ice cream; soft
1/2 c. chocolate fudge topping
Instructions:
Combine crumbs and butter.
Press mixture onto bottom and part way up sides of 8" square baking pan. Freeze until firm. Spread ice cream over the frozen crumbs. Cover with chocolate topping. Freeze several hours or overnight. To serve, let stand at room temperature about 15 minutes; cut into squares.
Fruit Dip
1 jar marshmallow creme
1 pkg. cream cheese
Mix with mixer until smooth. Serve with your favorite fruits.
