Pennsylvania police located on Thursday night the 15-year-old Ironton girl who left her home last weekend.
LaToya Nichole Richendollar, who is believed to have left her home between 2:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday morning, is safe and remains in youth services housing in Home, Pa., about 67 miles east of Pittsburgh. She is expected to appear in court this afternoon because she’s considered a runaway, officials with the Indiana County Sheriff’s Department said.
The man Miss Richendollar allegedly left home to meet – Jason Wolford, 20, of Home, Pa., – has been arrested and charged with interfering with the custody of children, said chief deputy David Rostis.
Wolford could face other court action, including federal charges, Rostis said.
The district attorney’s office in Indiana County is still investigating what charges can be filed, he added.
It’s believed Miss Richendollar left her home to meet Wolford, whom she first had contact with in an Internet chatroom about one month ago, her mother Linda Short said.
The man had made a few telephone calls to the girl’s house Short said, but that was the only "real-life" contact Short or Miss Richendollar had with the man.
The family had not had any confirmed contact with LaToya after her disappearance. The only leads police had were phone calls the girl made to some friends the night she left. According to Short, LaToya called a few friends asking for their help in meeting the man.
Her mother said her daughter’s actions were out of character for the Rock Hill eighth-grader. Short said her daughter was a "good girl" who had never been in trouble.
