The Symmes Valley Vikings did all facets of the game well Saturday as they beat the Beaver Eastern Eagles 9-0 and 13-2 in five innings in a pair of Southern Ohio Conference games.
Adam Corn pitched a one-hitter in the opener as he struck out 10 and walked two to get the win. Joseph Patterson worked the five-inning mercy rule game in the nightcap, gave up three hits, sruck out five and walked two.
"Adam Corn and Joseph Patterson did an outstanding job on the mound for us. They threw extremely well. The offense and defense did well. It was two well-rounded game. Our defense is getting better every game out," Vikings coach Rusty Webb said.
In the first game, Kyle Gilmore was 2-for-3 with a run batted in and Patterson 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead to lead a nine-hit attack.
Justin Myers was the big hitter in the second game as he went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI. The Vikings poundedout 10 hits.
Terry Elswick was 1-for-3 with two RBI and Nathan Pinkerman and Michael Roth each went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Symmes Valley is 6-5 overall and 5-1 in the SOC.
The Vikings play at Green Monday.
