Girls sectional tournament pairings selected

The girls sectional basketball tournament pairings were announced Sunday with tournaments set to begin as early at Feb. 12 for local teams.
In Division III at Rock Hill High School, Oak Hill (17-0) got the top seed while the Fairland Lady Dragons (13-1) were second.
In the upper bracket, Fairland plays Coal Grove (4-8) at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, followed by No. 3 seed Ironton (10-4) and Wheelersburg (4-12) at 8 p.m. The two winners meet at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.
In the lower bracket, Chesapeake (7-8) plays Minford (10-5) at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, with the winner meeting Oak Hill at 1 p.m. Feb. 17.
The upper bracket winner will play in the district tournament Wednesday, Feb. 28, against the Chillicothe No. 1 winner. In that sectional, Huntington (7-11) plays Southeastern (5-11) on Feb. 12 and the winner takes on No. 1 seed Unioto (16-1) at 1 p.m. Feb. 17.
The lower bracket champion advances to the district tournament against the Athens sectional winner.
New Lexington (14-3) and Trimble (3-12) meet in the first game Feb. 14 followed by Belpre (7-10) and Federal Hocking (5-10). The two winners meet at 2:45 p.m. Feb. 17.
Rock Hill and South Point will play each other in the Division II sectional at Coal Grove High School.
Rock Hill (11-4) earned the top seed and plays South Point (1-10) at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 14. The second game has No. 2 Portsmouth (13-2) facing Jackson (11-4). The winners will meet at 2 p.m. Feb. 17.
The sectional champion will go against the Huntington Ross sectional winner.
Greenfield McClain (14-1) was the top seed and plays the Miami Trace (9-6) and Washington Court House (2-16) winner while Circleville (13-3) and Hillsboro (11-4) tangle in the lower bracket. The finals are set for 2 p.m. Feb. 17.
The Division IV sectional at Alexander High School features Symmes Valley and Green.
At 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Lady Vikings (1-11) face South Gallia (2-11) with the winner meeting No. 1 South Webster (13-2) at 1 p.m. Feb. 17.
Green (8-4) plays Racine Southern (9-8) at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.
