Fairland is now 15-5 overall and 8-2 in the conference. The Lady Dragons host Coal Grove Tuesday, and must play another league game with Chesapeake that has yet to be rescheduled.

If Fairland wins Tuesday, both the Lady Dragons and Chesapeake will be 9-2 in the OVC, thus setting up a showdown for the league title.

"This was a big win. Rock Hill has a nice team," Fairland coach Jim Bailey said. "But we still have two more big games ahead of us."

Harmon had a big game on the mound and at the plate as the senior helped keep her team alive in the OVC race.

Harmon, 12-2, struck out seven and did not walk a batter as she fashioned a one-hitter. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

The only Rock Hill hit was a bunt single by Amanda Mays leading off the game. The only other baserunner was Jamie Skaggs who reached on an error in the fourth.

"That was a heck of an effort by Harmon," Bailey said.

Fairland got the only run it really needed in the first.

Jennifer Jones walked, stole second, took third on Maggie Staggs’ ground out, and scored on a passed ball.

A three-run third inning provide some insurance.

Brooke Fisher walked, Jeana Diamond reached on a fielder’s choice, and Harmon doubled down the left field line to score both runners. Harmon then scored on an outfield throwing error.
