A man accused in a November armed robbery of the Food Basket in South Point was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday, Lawrence County prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr. said.

Andrew R. Moore, 20, of Hillcrest Apartments, Ashland, Ky., pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, with a gun specification, Collier said.

Moore had been indicted on charges he brandished a gun while robbing the Food Basket on Nov. 24, he said.

Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Judge Frank McCown sentenced Moore to three years in state prison on the armed robbery charge and an additional three years for using a gun, for a total six-year term.

Moore took a .22-caliber revolver handgun into the store and brandished, displayed, indicated he possessed or otherwise used the weapon during the crime, according to court records.

A co-defendant in the case, Scott S. Moore, 18, of 107 Main St., South Point, pleaded guilty Jan. 19 to complicity to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, in connection with the same Nov. 24 incident. He was sentenced last month to four years in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $185.

Other sentencings issued in common pleas court Wednesday included:

– Jon Wilson, 40, of 764 County Road 32, Chesapeake: Pleaded no contest to five counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, specifically Oxycontin and Dilaudid narcotics, and one county complicity to aggravated trafficking in drugs, all fourth-degree felonies.

Judge Richard Walton found Wilson guilty, sentencing him to one year in prison on each count. Sentences on several charges will be served at the same time, for a total of three years in prison.

Wilson’s driver’s license was suspended for 18 months and he was fined $15,000.

– Charles David Shope, 34, of 2611 S. Fourth St., Ironton: Pleaded guilty to two counts domestic violence, felonies. Incidents occurred Nov. 16 and Jan. 16.

He was sentenced to three years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation, including 30 days in the county jail. He is to report March 1. He was ordered not to contact the victim and ordered to complete alcohol and anger management counseling.

– Sherry Sparks, 32, of 814 Adams St., Apt. B, Ironton: Pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence, and having three prior offenses within the past six years, fourth-degree felony, stemming from a Nov. 4 incident.

Ms. Sparks was sentenced to three years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation, including six months in the county jail. She may be released after 60 days if she completes a 30-day, in-house treatment program at Stepping Stones. She was fined $750. Her driver’s license was suspended for five years.
