Northwest gets past Redwomen

Things are starting to get a little better for the Rock Hill Redwomen.
Even though they suffered another loss, the Redwomen showed improvement in a 56-38 loss Monday to the Northwest Lady Mohawks.
Rock Hill coach Matt Fulks said his team learned from its 50-40 loss to Wellston on Saturday.
“We did some things better than we did Saturday, ww just didn’t do quite enough,” said Fulks.
“Take away the first quarter and that string of turnovers in the third quarter, and we would have given ourselves a chance.”
Rock Hill fell behind 14-2 at the end of the first quarter, but Chelsea Harper scored all 11 of her points in the second quarter as Rock Hill got within 24-17 at the half.
But turnovers hurt the Redwomen in the third quarter as Northwest pulled away to a 40-25 lead.
Besides Harper, Courtney Duncan had 10 points for Rock Hill and Hannah Long added eight.
Devan Scarberry scored a game-high 19 for Northwest.
Rock Hill hosts Gallipolis next Monday.
