SP’s Riley advances to state

ATHENS — Madison Riley is headed north.
The South Point Lady Pointers’ tennis player qualified Wednesday to play in the Division II state tournament Friday in Columbus.
Riley finished as the runner-up in the district tournament held in the Ohio University Tennis Center.
Riley beat Macy Huston of Circleville by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores and then downed Kristi Kline of Beaver Local in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 to reached the finals where she lost to Ali Miller of Portsmouth.
The top two finishers advance to the state tournament. Riley will play at 9 a.m. at the Ohio State University.
