SP’s Riley advances to district tennis

PORTSMOUTH — Madison Riley is going to take a swing at the district.
The South Point Lady Pointers’ tennis player was the runner-up at the Division II sectional tournament Wednesday to earn a berth in the district tournament next Wednesday in Athlens.
Riley beat Circleville’s Nikki Overly 6-1, 6-0 and Unioto’s Kayla Houst 6-0, 6-1.
She beat Mikhaila Roe of Minford 6-0, 6-1 and third-seeded Jessica Schmidt of 6-1, 6-0 in the semi-finals.
Riley then lost to No. 2 seed Ali Miller 6-=2, 6-3.
Riley and Miller advance to the district.
